What is Search Engine Marketing?

Search Engine Marketing is simply promoting your site using Internet search engines. It involves a variety of techniques including Paid Placement, Search Engine Optimization, and Paid Inclusion.

No single method is best, it depends entirely on the business goals of the company. We've found that using a variety of methods at different times in the campaign produces the best results. For example, we might use Pay Per Click for time sensitive promotions and search engine optimization for long term benefits.

What is Search Engine Optimization?

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is the process of preparing your web pages to tell their story better to the search engines. By properly labeling and identifying what your page is about, the search engine can better classify your page in its database.

Search engines look for clues on the pages to find out what the page is about. If you "optimize your page" by placing relevant information in the places where the search engines are looking, then your page will be considered relevant for that information. Search engine optimization requires modifications to the actual HTML code.

SEO is part art form, part technical, part copywriting. It works best when someone with experience does it.

A well rounded SEO campaign includes a web site evaluation, keyword analysis, page optimization, directory submission, and a link campaign. All these efforts together result in high rankings in the search engines on relevant keyword terms that will deliver qualified customers to your site.

Why the name KeyRelevance?

The term "relevance" has special meaning when associated with marketing. To a marketer, relevance means, "getting to the core interest of a consumer." It involves discovering what is really important to the customer, learning about their specific needs, and then offering them a solution that satisfies their needs. If a product isn't relevant to your visitor, you'll have great difficulty "converting" that visitor into a customer. So, appearing "relevant" to a potential customer is "key" to your success.

In search engine marketing, the term "relevance" has even more significance. Here, not only are we addressing the ultimate customer's needs, but also we are talking about a web page being "relevant" for a certain term to a search engine. We use proven techniques to qualify your web site to be "relevant" for certain search queries to the search engines. Your site must be categorized as "relevant" for a certain word or it cannot show up on a search engine's result page for a query of that word. For example, for your site to show up for a search on "plastic hammers," the search engine must have your page already classified in the database as being relevant for "plastic hammers".

At KeyRelevance, we stress the importance of bringing relevance back into your promotion campaign. We believe that relevancy is key to maximizing returns in the search engines. We work with you to identify the most relevant keywords for your business. These are words that will "click" with your target audience. By creating a campaign around these "special" words we can draw buyers to your site and move them along the buying decision process. We want your company to achieve success in the search engines because when you win, we win. And focused relevant traffic is the key to your success.
